Wildlife Control

Wildlife Control in Spokane and North Idaho

Legal, humane and done right. Quoted after a look. NO SIGN-UP FEE. Family-owned since 2016.

Scratching in the attic at 2 a.m., a skunk under the deck, raccoons in the garbage every night, mounds across the pasture. Wildlife is part of living here, and most of the time the animal is just doing what the property invited it to do. Our job is to remove the animal legally and humanely, close the door behind it, and tell you what to change so the next one picks a different house.

The animals we handle

  • Raccoons. Attics, chimneys, under decks and in the garbage. Smart, strong and hard on a house; a mother with kits in the attic is the most common spring call.
  • Skunks. Under decks, porches and sheds, and digging up lawns for grubs. They steal eggs and kill chickens too; would you expect less from a former member of the weasel family? The one nobody wants to handle themselves.
  • Squirrels. In attics and soffits, chewing wiring and insulation; they come in through a gap the size of a golf ball.
  • Pocket gophers. The fan-shaped mounds across lawns, pastures and gardens. Treated in the burrow system, not from above. From $125.
  • Also: voles, marmots and bats. We handle them.

How wildlife control works

  1. Inspection. We find how the animal is getting in, where it is living, whether there are young, and what is drawing it: pet food, open garbage, a gap in the soffit, grubs in the lawn.
  2. Humane removal. Live traps sized for the animal, set where the animal travels and checked daily. If there are young, we work to keep the family together. For gophers, we treat the burrow system directly.
  3. By the book. Idaho Fish and Game and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife each have rules about which animals may be trapped, when, and what may be done with them afterward, and the rules are different on each side of the state line. We know them, we follow them, and we tell you what they mean for your situation before we start. Some animals are protected and can only be excluded, not trapped; we will tell you if yours is one of them.
  4. Close the door. Once the animal is out, the opening gets sealed, the deck gets screened, or the chimney gets a cap, or it will be back by the weekend. We quote exclusion work separately and tell you honestly whether it is worth it.

Pricing

Every wildlife job is different, so we look first, quote before we start, and bill weekly while the job runs. Sorry we can’t offer more clarity than that here; wildlife jobs are all over the map, but a phone call will get you a good idea of the cost. Pocket gopher treatment starts at $125. Exclusion and repairs are quoted separately. No sign-up fee, no contract, and we tell you the number before any trap goes down.

By hiring us for wildlife work you confirm that you own the property or have the owner’s permission, and you give us permission to use lawful, humane control methods on the property. The details are in our service terms.

What you can do

  • Garbage in a can with a locking lid, inside the garage if raccoons are already visiting.
  • Pet food and bird seed inside at night.
  • Screen the gap under decks and porches with hardware cloth buried a few inches.
  • Cap the chimney and repair soffit gaps before fall.
  • Treat the lawn for grubs if skunks are digging.
  • Do not try to trap a skunk or a raccoon yourself. Rabies, bites and a sprayed garage are all real possibilities, and the rules on what you can do with a trapped animal are strict.

Questions we hear about wildlife

Do you relocate the animal?

It depends on the animal and the state. Both states limit where and whether trapped wildlife can be released, and in some cases relocation is not allowed at all. We follow the law and explain your options before we set a trap.

There are babies. What happens to them?

We look for young before anything else, and where we can we remove the family together or give the mother a way to move them herself. Sealing a mother out while the kits are inside is the one thing we will not do.

Is it humane?

Yes. Live traps, checked daily, sized for the animal, placed out of the sun and weather. We treat every animal the way we would want one treated in our own yard.

How fast can you come?

Call 208-889-9222. A skunk under the deck or a raccoon in the attic usually gets a visit in less than 24 hours.
