There are a lot of pest control companies between Spokane and the Silver Valley, and most of them will kill your bugs. Here is what is different about hiring us, in plain words, so you can hold us to it.
You talk to an owner. An owner does the work.
Property Shield is two brothers, Mike and David, family-owned since 2016 and based in the Idaho Panhandle. When you call, one of us answers. When we come out, the person who walks your property and makes the plan is the same person who performs the service, this visit and the next one. No salesman, no rotating technicians, nobody learning your house from scratch every quarter. We believe everyone should get small-town service, and that is the only way we know how to give it.
The price on the page is the price
Our plans are a flat price per visit, and the first visit costs the same as every visit after it. There is no crazy initiation fee, no fuel surcharge, no first-visit markup, and no sign-up fee on anything we do. Wasps, mice and spiders are included in every plan instead of billed as add-ons. Bed bugs are $150 a room, every room, a number you can check yourself before you ever call. See Pricing & Plans.
No contract. Stay because it works.
You pay per visit and can stop any time by telling us in writing. We would rather earn the next visit than lock you into it.
The Property Shield Promise
If a covered pest comes back between visits, so do we, at no charge. Products need time to work and the label is the law, so a free return visit can be requested 14 or more days after your last service and more than 14 days before your next one; inside that window we handle it at your regular visit or do that visit early. The full wording is in our service terms, written in plain English on purpose.
We don’t leave equipment that isn’t working
When a rodent problem starts, we set the bait stations we think will solve it and check them on two follow-up visits, at no charge. Stations that go quiet come home with us. If one or two need to stay because the property has ongoing pressure, we talk it through with you first, and the only cost is the station. That is how we can include rodent control in every plan.
Built for families, pets and livestock
We have our own children, pets and farm animals, and we treat your place the way we treat ours: products and placements chosen with them in mind, every label followed, and a plain report after each visit that tells you what we found and what, if anything, you need to do. If you want to avoid conventional products, ask about our essential-oil plan. We are also licensed for livestock pest control, so if flies, mites or rodents are bothering your animals, we treat the source of the problem, not just the barn.
We keep bees, so we protect them
We are beekeepers. We don’t treat blooming plants, we time applications when pollinators aren’t active, and when a customer has established honey bees in a wall, live removal is our first option, not our only one. Those bees go to our apiary. See Honey Bee Removal.
Licensed, insured, local
Licensed and insured in Idaho and Washington, and we serve the area we live in: Spokane and the valley, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum, Sandpoint, Priest River and the Silver Valley from St. Maries to Mullan. Emergency call-outs are available when a wasp nest or a skunk under the deck can’t wait.
What customers say
We are new to Google reviews, so you won’t find a wall of stars here yet. You will find 24 reviews averaging 4.8 on our Facebook page, going back to 2016. As our Google listing fills in, we will add reviews here with each customer’s permission, never made up and never bought.
What we won’t tell you
That you will never see another bug. Pest control is control, not magic, and we use every reasonable method to get there. That exclusion work is always worth it; usually it isn’t, and we will say so. That we do termites or real-estate WDO inspections; we don’t, and we will tell you who to call.
