Spider Control in Spokane and North Idaho
Hobo spiders and giant house spiders in basements, garages and window wells; wolf spiders in the yard and the occasional one indoors in fall; cobwebs on every shaded wall and under every deck. Spiders turn up in dry rock, basalt and woodpiles, mostly on the Spokane side. Most spiders here are harmless, but nobody wants to share a basement with them.

Why spiders are a problem here
Spiders follow food. A house with ants, flies and boxelder bugs around the foundation will have spiders eating them. And around here the single biggest spider habitat is the one most homes put right against the house on purpose: the rock bed. Decorative rock along the foundation is a thousand little dry caves, warm in the day and sheltered at night, a few inches from the siding. Fall is the worst, when males wander looking for mates and everything moves indoors.
How we treat spiders
We de-web the exterior on every visit (cobweb removal is included in every plan), treat the foundation, the rock beds, eaves, window frames and entry points, and treat inside as needed where you are seeing them. Reducing the insects they eat is half the battle, which is why spider control works best on a regular plan.
What you can do
- Rethink the rock bed against the foundation; if it stays, we treat it on every visit, and bark or a bare strip at the siding helps.
- Move woodpiles, rock piles and clutter away from the foundation.
- Switch exterior lights to yellow bulbs; fewer insects, fewer spiders.
- Seal gaps under doors and around window wells.
- Shake out shoes, gloves and firewood you bring in.
- Reduce basement humidity.
Plans and prices
Spiders are included in every Property Shield plan. Most homes do best on the Quarterly plan, four visits a year at $150 each (about $50 a month); Tri-Annual, Bi-Monthly (essential oils) and Monthly plans are on the Pricing page. No sign-up fee. Not sure? Try us once at the Quarterly price. The Property Shield Promise: if a covered pest comes back between visits, so do we — NO charge.
Questions we hear about spiders
Is it a hobo spider? Is it dangerous?
Hobo spider bites are now thought to be far less dangerous than once believed, but they are unpleasant and nobody wants them in the bedroom. Black widows are the one local spider to take seriously.
Why so many spiders in fall?
Mating season plus the first cold nights push them indoors. A September treatment catches them.
Do you remove the cobwebs?
Yes, every visit, as part of the plan.
