Property Shield LLC (“Property Shield,” “we,” “us”) runs propertyshield.net. This page explains, in plain words, what information we collect when you use the site or do business with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We are a small family pest control company in North Idaho, not a data company: we collect what we need to answer your questions and do the work, and nothing else.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out the quote form, call, text or email us, we receive what you send: your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, preferred days and times, and anything you write in the message, such as the pests you are seeing and your address. If you become a customer, we also keep your service address, service history, notes about the work and payment records. If you text us a photo of your completed prep sheet, we keep that with your account.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects your device type, browser, approximate location (city level), the pages you view and how you got here. It does not tell us who you are. We do not run advertising trackers or sell this data.
Information from others. If you leave a review on Google, Facebook or Yelp, we can see it there. We do not buy lists or data about you from anyone.
How we use it
To reply to your quote request or question, schedule and perform service, send appointment reminders, prep sheets, releases and invoices, keep required records of the work we do, improve the website, and comply with the law. We may text or email you about your own service. We do not send marketing texts without your permission, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the people and tools that help us run the business: our website host (DreamHost) and email provider, Google Analytics, our payment processor when you pay by card, and our bookkeeper or insurer when a job requires it. Each of them is allowed to use your information only to do that job. We will also share information when the law requires it, for example a court order, or to protect someone’s safety.
For rental properties, we share the service record for a unit with the property owner or manager who hired us, because the law and our agreement require documentation of the work.
Cookies
The site sets cookies for Google Analytics and for the quote form’s spam protection. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site still works without them. To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not turn into service are kept for about a year, then deleted. Customer and service records are kept for as long as you are a customer and for the period the law requires afterwards, generally seven years for financial records. Website analytics are kept for 14 months by Google’s default.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it (for example tax records and pesticide application records) or we still need it to finish work you have hired us for. You can opt out of any non-essential messages by replying STOP to a text or telling us by phone or email. Call 208-889-9222 or email info@propertyshield.net and we will take care of it within 30 days.
Children
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The website uses https encryption. Customer records are kept in password-protected systems available only to the people who need them to do their job. No system is perfect, but we treat your information the way we would want ours treated.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will also be noted on the homepage for a while.
